Google Glass now covered by VSP Vision Care

VSP Vision Care, the nation's largest vision insurance provider, announced that they will offer subsidized frames and prescription lenses for Google Glass. Google Glass are glasses that come complete with a computer and optical head-mounted display. VSP's prescription plan will reimburse plan members an average of $120 towards $225 cost of the titanium frames. The computer portion of the Google Glass will not be covered under the VSP plan. VSP also teamed up with Google to provide a training program for optometrists so they can learn how to mount the Glass devices on frames and properly fit them for patients.*
