All lots of sterile and non-sterile products that have been compounded, repackaged and distributed by the Prescription Center Pharmacy located at 915 Hay Street in Fayetteville, North Carolina between September 10, 2014 and March 10, 2015 have been recalled. This includes Avastin for intraocular injection. The recall does affect all 50 states because the Prescription Center distributed the recalled compounded products in all 50 states and Canada. The Prescription Center Pharmacy was cited due to its inability to ensure sterility, stability and potency for the sterile and non-sterile products that were compounded and repackaged. Patients and providers should cease using all compounded products distributed by the Prescription Center immediately and discard them according to state and local guidelines. You can get more information by calling the North Carolina Board of Pharmacy at 919-246-1050. You may also contact Ashley McGlone, the manager of regulatory affairs at amcglone@ascrs.org.
